Early this morning, Talia dragged me out of bed and snuggled in on my lap for a groggy mommy-daughter chat. All of the sudden she asks, "What's in your mouth? It smell." Taken aback, I explained that my mouth was empty--that was just morning breath. Her response: "Morning breath yucky."
Gotta love the honesty of children.

Charles' favorite comment is that his "mouth tastes like the bottom of a birdcage" in reference to his morning breath! I've pondered "At what point does a child change from just noticing different odors to designating them to 'yucky' or 'good' smell categories?"
If she only knew the smells she's subjected you to . . .
