While characteristically chaotic (particularly for Jason who is swamped at work), March was blissfully routine for our family. We celebrated pi day with chicken pot pie, apple pie, banana cream pie, pineapple pie, and even a shaker lemon pie. Yum!

Mainly March
Earning Our Horchata
Inspired by Zion's boundless energy, we eventually made it to the top with legs-a-burnin. Granted, we didn't chase quite as many butterflies (or quail or turkeys) as he did.
Driving home, Zion was so worn out that he surrendered his post barking at trucks as canine-vigilante and curled up on the passenger seat all the way home. I'm sure I will sleep well tonight too, although perhaps not as deeply as my daughters who have been burning the midnight oil cramming for finals. Or my hubby, who has been working crazy hours for work. Or Eli, who likewise has been getting far too little sleep now that AP Exams are about to start. Annika doesn't have a lot of school or work stress, but definitely struggles to nod off without her clonidine and magnesium. Come to think of it, when it comes to sleep, Zion and I are the luckiest in the family!

Fleurs a la Famille
Hey, you wanna know the great thing about my blog? Well, it's mine. Total freedom of artistic expression. And since I don't print it anymore, I can post a bazillion pictures without much consequence. So while a thoughtful curator would sort through these photos and select the five to ten best that encapsulate the experience, I don't have to be that thoughtful. Every single one of these photos brings me joy. For a lovely afternoon our entire family was together, and I want to savor the moment.
Brooklyn and Talia came home for a Sunday afternoon on their way back from an Ultimate Frisbee tournament in Seattle. (Many thanks to Papa Kay for traveling with them!) Our cute girls arrived back at home just in time to experience the blossoms at the Capitol in their prime.
Eli took some amazing photos--check back later and hopefully they will be added.
The oldest and youngest, stepping in time.
Talia, we love your smile too! Even if this one is a bit hilarious.
