Hooked on Yarn at the Avenues Street Fair

On September 11th, Talia ran her very own booth at the Avenues Street Fair.  For an entire year, she diligently prepared, adding one item after another to her collection.  It was time to reap the rewards of all this work.  Or at the very least, reclaim our home.  Her creations were quickly taking over.  Hardly any room for cheesecake!

Talia designed a gorgeous Hooked on Yarn poster.  Too bad it didn't weather a little better.

Getting everything set up on the big day.

Talia used books to organize her creations thematically.  So fun!

The Velveteen Rabbit.

If you look closely, you can see the anatomical heart behind all the Covies.

Unsurprisingly, Talia's creations sold really well. The Among Us characters, Baby Yodas, Snitches, Bernie Sanders, and Pygmy Puffs disappeared particularly quickly.

What did surprise us, however, was the rain.  We were grateful for the moisture given the drought, but even more grateful for the shelter Jenny Asay lent us.  Everything survived but the sign.

Many thanks to family who came to support Talia!  Brianna and Ruby joined us for both the booth and the children's parade.

Grandma Susie likewise came to support Talia, even running the booth for a moment so that Talia could stroll through the fair.

We even welcomed our Grandma Helen Riddoch Wells, thanks to the Activity Day Girls' booth on Family History.  Papa Kay's looking pretty handsome there in his powder blue tux as well.

Participating in the street fair helped me better appreciate all the work that goes into organizing this event every year.  I am so grateful to everyone who makes it happen, adding such richness to our Avenues community.

I'm pleased, but not surprised, that Talia's amazing yarn creations sold well and swiftly. Congratulations Reddi Wip! Keep up the great work!
