Lucky Lake George

Despite years of practice, it's hard to know how to blog Lake George.  The days blend into one great memory of family and fun.  But since days are fairly defined units that my camera is smart enough to recall, how about we start right there.

Monday, July 19th
We felt really lucky to get this great boat.  Boats were in high demand this season, so they were fully booked nearly everywhere.  Fortunately, the owner of one marina was willing to rent us his kids' "play boat" and it worked amazingly.

Alesia and Greg are both great captains, having learned from their Dad.

Jason arrived in the late afternoon of July 19th.  Completely exhausted after his red-eye (not to mention work stress), he fell sound asleep while reading Harry Potter to Annika.

Tuesday, July 20th
Besides being treetop adventure day, we had some other fun as well.  I jogged into town and discovered the geese like to hang out there too.

Anders discovered the joy of pushing his mom into the lake.

This baby duck came to visit fairly regularly.

Plus, there's nothing my parents love more than sitting on the shore watching their grandkids play.

Finally, here's Anders helping Brooklyn try out her rental cello.  As much as Brooklyn loves her regular cello, it's hard to squish in the car for cross-country road trips.

Wednesday, July 21st.
Beginning the day with an early morning ski.

Callie perfects the wedgie fix.

Jason dives right in and recalls that skiing slalom is hard...

...but he's outstanding at skiing with one hand!

Look at Katelyn go!

Eli's game for another run, signalling to go faster.

Out of the wake.  Nice job buddy.

I can't remember what meal is coming, but everyone sure looks happy about it.  Sun-kissed smiles and beach blond hair all around.

Waterfront frisbee.

Zoe and Papa Kay in their happy places.

Anders becomes a snorkeling expert.  Quick to learn by trial and error, he heads into the water once it doesn't work on Annika's head.  The ducks offer advice.

Callie and I headed out for a short run along Million Dollar beach.

Tube time!  Eila and Eli look ready for some fun.

Last but not least, a stunning rainbow to celebrate life's beauty.

Hard to imagine a more perfect moment. Thank you so much to the Wells family for opening your hearts and home to us all.

The beautiful rainbow, crystal clear lake, beautiful family, great food, fast boat ... Lake George was certainly a lucky place to be this summer!
