Cost of Our European Adventure

A while back, I calculated all of our trip expenses for our personal records.  I never planned on publishing this on the blog, but I think it's fairly interesting history.  Long story short: the trip cost a lot.  Still, it didn't cost nearly as much as I thought it might.  Divided between six people, it totalled slightly more than $2000 per person.  That's not terrible when you consider we were there for nineteen days.  That comes out to $108 per person per day.  Brooklyn's attending a conference in Maryland this February where her per diem allowance for food alone is $70.

We spent far more than this on the combination of our new fireplaces and furnace.  I am so grateful for our warm house.  However, I'm just as grateful for these European memories created as a family.  I may be a notorious cheapskate, but I would splurge and do it again.
