Kyhv Peak and Bouncing Back to Cross E Ranch

Oh my goodness, I'm exhausted!  It was the best day, but I played so hard that my feet want to fall off.

The day definitely started as a downer when Zion got into a bag on the couch and destroyed Annika's pill container  Boo!  Either he devoured all nine PM pills, or that section was already empty.  How do we get this naughty pup to stop chewing on plastic?

Fortunately, the day could only improve from there!  Talia only had classes in the morning, so I drove down to Provo so we could hike up Rock Canyon.  Hiking with my daughter among lovely fall leaves--I'm not sure life gets much better!  I just feel so fortunate that Talia enjoys hiking as much as I do.

Our destination?  Kyhv Peak, once known as Squaw Peak.  Little did I realize that it was right above us (2700 feet up).  Our trail looped around for four miles to take us up the backside of the mountain.

Photo shoot with Zion.  The last picture is the best.

Too tight, a little too tight!

The summit.

Great views of Utah Lake and the whole Wasatch front.

If you looked straight down, you could see our car in the parking lot and the site where the new Provo Temple is being constructed.  (We're still sad the old temple was torn down.)

It was getting late in the afternoon by the time we made it down.  Just perfect for golden light!

Thanks for hiking with me Talia!  You're still the favorite.  :)

Okay, I need to stop blogging because Jason is sleeping next to me and I'm worried that I might be disturbing his slumber.  But at least the sleep talking is hilarious.  He just mumbled, "We should go shoot auto-rifles for your birthday."

I'll conclude with way too many photos from taking Annika, Ruby, Violet, and Zion to CrossE Ranch tonight with our bounce back pass.

This was the first time I've had the chance to do the hay ride.  We loved it!  Plus, Zion did pretty well with all the cows.

Zion and Ruby definitely bonded.

Here's Violet rocking the obstacle course like a big kid.

Fresh apple cider donuts and hot chocolate for the win!

And of course, the corn pits.  Glad everyone made it out alive.

Now sweet dreams all!
