Corn-ucopia, a Sizeable Stick, and Raw Rhodes Rolls

I'm committed to this journal-style keep up blog versus the eternal catch-up.  I think I'm inspired by Jason who has been doing an outstanding job of journaling on his phone every evening.  I wish I were better at composing text on my phone, but I get frustrated because I'm all thumbs and end up misspelling everything.

Anyway, this is what we've been up to since returning from the Grand Canyon.  On Monday night we joined Jason at Cross E Ranch where the Emigration Single Adult ward was hosting an activity.  (Jason is currently assigned to serve as the high councilor for their congregation.)  The lady checking us in looked a little skeptical when Jason showed up with his wife and a kid for the singe adult activity and even asked him the name of the ward's bishop!  But hey, he must have passed the test because we all got in.

Annika was most interested in the climbing wall and the corn pit.  I don't have any photos of her climbing because I was busy eating apple cider donuts, but the corn pit photos are pretty hilarious.  Not sure how sanitary, but I'll try not to think about that.

We missed Eli because he was busy doing homework.  Between robotics, cross country, school, and church, our teen is constantly hopping.

Meanwhile, Annika had an open schedule after school on Tuesday so we went for a hike with NomiAnn up Millcreek.  She found this giant stick at the beginning of the trail and decided that she wanted to carry it the entire way for some crazy reason.

Pretty funny.

After several miles you could tell she was getting tired, but she kept at it because she wanted to take the stick home and put it in her room.  I told her that it was too dirty for a bedroom, but she kind of got her way because the stick is currently in my car.

Yesterday it was Zion who was up to the most antics. He may look innocent, but don't let him deceive you!

I put some Rhodes Rolls out to rise and he ate SEVEN!  I can only imagine what his gut must have felt like after.

The aftermath.  Just hoping there won't be more to add to this story...

 Now happy Thursday, all!
