The Friendliest Frosh: Talia at BYU

This is a bittersweet post for me to write. I'm still in denial that it happened. At the end of August, our brilliant Talia went to college!

Before she left we made sure we took care of all the most important things: tasty bites (thank you Sawadee)...

...and sisterly hikes.

Moving into Chipman Hall.  It was only appropriate that the sky shed a few tears with me.

Jason couldn't be there when Brooklyn moved into college because he'd had knee surgery the day before.  We were so glad he could be there this time, especially since Brooklyn is away.

Talia's dorm room is cute as can be.  Both she and her roommate represent T.S. well.

Their hall couldn't be more appropriately themed.

Back to the dorm room, the quilt that NomiAnn made for Talia is lovely.

Getting into bed requires some major hops, but it's worth it for the storage space.

Talia's dorm floor has a super cute cowgirl theme.

Moving in is a lot of work, especially when you are on the third floor.  Best fuel up at the Creamery.

Back at home Zion missed Talia so much.  Definite doggy regression.

Plus the basement felt so empty!  Eli immediately rehung some of her art.

So um, yeah.  Without Talia, we're all a bit pathetic.

A few days after Talia moved in I went back down to join her for freshman/parent orientation.  Look like a lot of students?

Sure is!  I learned that this year's Freshman class is the largest yet with 7262 admitted students, 63% of which are women.  Just for the record, there are 37,000 students at BYU and tuition costs $3300/semester.  Definitely a steal of a deal for a quality education.

They may be attending a large university, but Talia and Clara are brilliantly unique.  It was so fun to spend a little time with these two.

Also, this year happens to be BYU's sesquicentennial.  What a fantastic time to become a Cougar!

Building the Y!  Look closely and you can see Talia on the botttom far right edge taking a selfie.

We love you, Talia!  Brigham Young University shines brighter because of you.
