From Bells Canyon to Bear Lake with the Wheelers

On the Wheeler side of the family, we all gathered mid-September for some family fun.  As would be expected, the food was abundant and delicious.  Here we have the grill masters.

I may look cheeky here, but I'm actually studying cranial nerves for my Health Assessment class.  Tongue protrusion provides strong evidence that your hypoglossal (XII) is functioning well.

Inside, Lance was enjoying some Violet time.  Her gaze always captivates!

Adding Aunt Christy to the shot.  She and Susie made the most delicious veggies!

One more picture with the Kellogg Northwestern bear.  Lance finished classes for his two year Executive MBA program at Northwestern just this week.  Congratulations!

Now on to the entertainment.  A toddler mattress and a long flight of stairs make for some great thrills!  Much fun was had.

Family time.  How awesome to have an impromptu reunion!  I like liking each other.

The next day part of the group went hiking up Bells Canyon.  Apparently Annika hitched a ride!  Enjoy the rarity, Annie Mae.  As a nine year-old, that may have been the very last time.

When it comes to a love for hiking, Susie and I are kindred spirits.

Lance lives it up for the camera.  Gotta love his smokin' hot phone.

So pretty in the evening light.

Christy and I couldn't make Bells Canyon, but we did explore Gloria Falls with Talia and Eli.  So many thanks to the Wilhoits for the suggestion!

Short and sweet, you get to experience some awesome waterfalls without traveling a ton of distance.

Last but not least, Bear Lake!  Over General Conference weekend, Ben, Christy, Jason, Justin, and Susie all biked the fifty mile loop around Bear Lake.  Next year I'd love to join them, although I might need to follow Susie's lead and rent an electric bike.

Charles was the vital sag wagon.

Ben leads the pack.

Jason in his happy place, surrounded by silos.

As they look for a place to retire, we've mentioned to my folks that Bear Lake might be worth considering.  Secret may be out by now, but it's still a beautiful spot!  Just chilly come December...
