The Colors of Clayton Peak

Friends, I am three posts from being completely caught up! You are likely as tired of reading these as I am of writing them, but I can't give up now.

This September Eli and I went on the most glorious hike: Clayton Peak.  The aspens were just perfect right in the space of time between his birthday and mine.  I'm hoping we can make it an annual tradition.

Hiking in the Cottonwoods is getting more complicated (and more expensive) as the canyons become increasingly popular.  Wanting to save on parking at the Blood Lake Trailhead, we rode the shuttle from Park City.  Zion was allowed on the shuttle as well, but had to wear their complementary muzzle.

Worth the effort!  I think the photos say it all.

Sometimes I take selfies of myself when I hike just so I can know what really happy looks like.

This hike was so glorious that Annika and I went back shortly after.  We only hiked a small distance up the trail, but the colors were just as delightful.  No filter here--just golden leaves and golden sunshine.

Happy trails!
