Sugarhouse Sweet: State Cross-Country 2025

One more post in my endeavor to stay caught up on this blog.  Wednesday, October 29th was State Cross Country, and this amazing kid ran Varsity for West High.  Congratulations, Eli!

Before I share photos of State Cross Country, here are some other photos from a meet at Wheeler Historic Farm.

(Sorry for the blurry background--my lens definitely needs cleaning...)

It wasn't until after he finished the course that I learned Eli had been tripped at the start.  Ouch!  The knee wasn't too bad but the hip took a hard bruising.

And now for our photos of State Cross Country, held at Sugarhouse Park.

Thanks to Papa Kay and Grandma Susie for coming to cheer.

Here's Eli talking to his friend Sam Calderon.

And they're off!

Definitely smiling more than the guy in front!

The home stretch.  Yippee!

The trees were the real winners.  So majestic!  But seriously, all the teams were impressive.  Every single competitor was fast, with very little break from the front of the pack to the end.

Congratulations Eli!  We're so proud of all your hard work and dedication to Cross Country over the season.

Enjoy some well-earned rest.
