Christmas Eve

Christmas in Omaha!  We arrived late in the evening of December 23rd, just in time to fully celebrate Adam's birthday/Christmas Eve in Nebraska.

Here are Eila (4) and Anders (2) making cookies with NomiAnn before we arrived.

Worth the trip from Washington for sure.

Yummy.

They waited until we got there to decorate them.  You can never have too many sprinkles.

Theoretically speaking, of course.

We had a great time raking leaves with Papa Kay.

Love your hair, Eli!

Crossing the Bob Kerrey pedestrian bridge into Iowa.  I wanna be as stylish as my sister.

She's passed the style on to Eila.

Gosh, I love this crew!  (Thanks for being our photographer, Jason.  I love you too.)

Anders gives Omar the troll a kiss.

After the pedestrian bridge, we headed over to Zio's pizzeria in Old Market to celebrate Adam's birthday.  Happy birthday, Adam!  Brother-in-law of the century award right over here.  What can I say?  My sister's always had excellent taste.

Meanwhile Anders found himself a pair of wheels and got himself a speeding ticket.

Don't worry, Daddy will take care of it.  Adam's a pretty wealthy guy.

Back at home, we opened some of Adam's birthday presents, then transitioned into Christmas Eve mode.  Hawaiian haystacks for a birthday/Christmas Eve dinner.

Next up, the Nativity.  What an angelic Mary.

Zoe's in the manger.

Heavenly strings.  (Never thought this brass player would say that.)

Eli's favorite Christmas song: "I'm getting Nuttin' for Christmas."

Have you heard about the boy who laughed at Santa Claus?  Beware the fate of Jabez Dawes.

Christmas jammies are the best.  Next to cousins, of course.

Cutest family ever.

We like this family too.

Talia was so happy to be reunited with her birth buddy, Zoe.  Thirteen years and counting.

Only thing left is to get a good night's sleep and hope that Santa comes.
Sweet dreams!
