Or maybe not. After all, how do you really explain it when your six year-old comes marching upstairs, proud as can be, to show off how she just pierced her own ear? She didn't poke the earring all the way through, but judging by the blood she came pretty close. Really?!!! I mean, who does that? Cutting your own bangs is one thing, but this is in an entirely different realm. I was positively at a loss of words. As for Talia, she didn't seem at all bothered by the pain, but was supremely disappointed to discover that I wasn't going to let her keep the piercing.
If this is six, just imagine sixteen.

My sister pierced her own belly button at twelve :(
So are you going to take her to get her ears pierced? She is obviously ready :)
I told Eden as soon as she wanted to we'd get them done. She is six and still can't decide one way or the other. No rush, I think my sister was 14 before she decided she wanted hers pierced. I asked to have mine done when I was 5; it was my birthday present.
I remember when Talia's mom was both 6 and 16. The apple didn't fall far from the tree. Keep smiling.
