Yesterday's post ended with Brooklyn at New Student Orientation in Provo. Even though parents were invited to join in for a day, Jason couldn't make it because he was pretty indisposed, having had his ACL replaced earlier that morning.
Bedrest was challenging for my super active husband. I thought we'd spend a lot of time watching movies as a family, but in truth he had tons of work to keep up with work from home. Also, his injury occupied most of the couch so family members tended to drift elsewhere.
Jason occasionally drifted too. Here he is at the top of the stairs, project managing as Charles helped to finish up tiling our bathroom. Grandpa Charles, we are so very, very grateful!
And here's the leg a week later when Jason had the bandages removed. So colorful! The extensive bruising is courtesy of the "healing response" for the MCL repair.
Ha ha! I just noticed Jason's doodle "Yes" to inform the surgeon which was the correct knee.
As I near the end of nursing school, the sight of Jason's "ecchymosis" (bruising) is more fascinating than disturbing. However, I recognize that not everyone shares my intrigue. For those who would like to see something prettier, I'll finish up with some pictures from a hike up Albion Basin. Not that your legs aren't pretty, amor. ;)
So on September 3rd, Annika, Eli, and I joined the Wilhoits on a hike up to Cecret Lake. The idea was to give Jason a little quiet time to rest on a Sunday afternoon.
Plus, we love hanging out with these guys. Great picture, Callie and Adam!
I'm so glad these cousins like each other. Hiking together has to be one of my favorite things to do, period.
More happy faces. The mountains will do that to you.
At last, our Cecret Lake.
I'll make you privy to one final secret: the prettiest flowers were by the outhouses.
Keep smiling!

All photos are inspiring, except for the wounded leg photos. Jason should wait a few months before entering a "Mr. Beautiful Legs" contest. Keep Smiling!
