We began our mega-road trip on Thursday, July 20th, driving all the way through to Omaha in a single day. When we arrived, NomiAnn had cooked a veritable Thanksgiving feast for us. Turkey in November is expected, but turkey in July is an extra-special treat! Thank you!
We spent the entire next day in Omaha, mostly relaxing and recuperating from the long drive and the longer drive yet to come. In the evening, we headed down to the Gene Leahy Mall to enjoy the new Heartland of America Park. Love this place! Also, we are so glad they kept the slides. Annika got going so fast that she flew off the end a couple times. Talia too!
The roller slides are cool too, although very different. The kids tried going down on their bellies and do not recommend.
Plus, puppy love, porch swings, and grandparents for the win.
That evening they were showing Minions at the park. We couldn't stay out that late because we needed to get on the road early the next morning, but Annika still got this awesome minion banana.
Jason rocked the climbing wall. So many talents!
After finishing up at the Mall, we headed to Cornflower for some ice cream. A few of NomiAnn's students work here. It's just as tasty as its repuation!
Omaha, our "hi, hello" may have been brief, but it was lovely. Looking forward to seeing you soon!

It was a fun visit. And ... the Heartland of America Park has now expanded to the Mighty Missouri river! It has many more attractions including a skating ribbon, sandy beach, horseshoe pits, and play structures designed for older children. You'll like it when you next explore the place.
