From Friend Camping to Father's Day

I'm so sleepy!  But since I haven't gotten much done today, let me post a few pictures before bed.

Rewind to June: beauty for the world to see.  This rose disliked being relegated to our backyard, so she insisted on making her way out for the neighbors to enjoy.

Before moving to the desert, I had no idea that cactus blooms are both silken and stunning.  This beauty was photographed while running with Talia along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail (BST).

The BST meanders just above This is the Place Heritage Park.  We are glad the park is open since we have a membership this year, although many of our favorite attractions are closed.

Here's Eli having a socially-distanced playdate at Sugarhouse Park with his friend Sohum.

And here are the Salt Lake Wheelers having a socially distanced ice cream date with cousin Jeanette and her cute kids.

Back on the home front, Annika amused herself with mudbaths.  Seriously, where does this girl come from?

On the positive side, she's learning that books are a great way to continue her imaginary voyages.

Utah's in the middle of a drought, so rain storms are cause to celebrate.  For those wishing to remain dry, goggles and rainboots are appropriate attire.

All tuckered out.  Doesn't everyone nap behind the couch?

Next up: a relaxing day at Pineview Reservoir.  Even moms deserve a chance to unwind, right Stacey?

Eli and Sammy build sand castles.

Same story for Hannah and Annie.

Annika gets ready to head out on a paddleboard with Andres.  She thought trying to push him off was great fun.

Back at the Calderons property, the kids amused themselves by rolling tires down the hill (and we all know Jason's just a kid.)

The little girls were enthralled by their caterpillars.

For Annika, it was love at first sight.

Heading back to our tents after a short hike.  Thank you so much, Calderon family, for welcoming us again!  Even though we don't connect as often as we would like, your friendship means so much.

We broke camp Saturday evening to get back for church on Sunday morning, then headed up to Logan to celebrate Father's Day.  No one is more deserving!

The weather was ideal for our backyard barbecue.

The kids were delighted by Grandma Susie's thriving garden, complete with sour rhubarb, a favorite for Miss Annika.

Future Dad.  An appropriate photo for our salad lovin' Eli.

Happy Father's Day to Uncle Justin and Grandpa Charles as well!  And of course, to my own Anonymous Papa Kay.  You are all so loved and appreciated!

Especially my very own Peanut Butter.

Annika’s antics and unique views of life crack me up! Mud bath? Why not! Sleeping behind the couch? Of course! So cozy. Love you all and love your adventures and your eye for beauty in all areas!
