I don't know about your family, but our family schedule has gone wacko over the past six weeks. It's not uncommon for the kids to sleep in and stay up late. Here it is 8:40 on a Sunday morning. Jason's at the church holding virtual meetings from a real office and Annie's downstairs doing who knows what. As for the rest, they are all still snoozing. Truth to be told, I have no intention of waking them up anytime soon because, what for? Home church won't happen until the afternoon, plus it's Fast Sunday so people are more likely to be cranky. Instead, we are fully enjoying this opportunity to relax/be downright lazy.
Meanwhile, I'm trying to be quasi-productive in sorting out this blog. Here's a random collection from my photo roll in February/early March. Enjoy the silly snapshots of our life.
Weighing Spark. For a few days, we were really worried about the little guy. His two front teeth got super wiggly, then fell out completely! Spark is such a fun and social member of the family that we would be devastated if anything happened to him. Fortunately, we learned that guinea pigs grow new teeth really quickly. Our best conjecture as to what happened is that he gnawed too vigorously on a mango pit. No more mango for you, Spark!
Ski fun at Brighton.
Annika lost one of her ski poles when she dropped it off the ski lift, so Jason waited in line with her at customer service to see if it had been turned in. To stave off boredom, Annika apparently stripped down and created this montage.
Silly girl.
Meanwhile, here are Talia and Eli skiing through the trees. Must have been a big crash to bring this giant one down! Brooklyn didn't ski as much this season because she was often busy with Science Olympiad.
Here's another ski trip with Talia's cute friend Clara.
I decided that after twenty years, my husband still looks like David Spade.
As for Eli, well, he just looks silly.
He and Brooklyn were pretty darn creative with their fort construction. Maybe this will solve our bedroom shortage.
The library did a great job hosting the celebration with mocktails, a live band, a parade, and fortune telling. We even won the trivia game.
On the school front, here's the self-portrait Brooklyn did for her drawing class at West. I love it!
Annika was the cutest little turtle for her Wasatch Town Hall meeting about the Class Pet.
We celebrated my boss Shannon's birthday by hosting a luncheon for all the superinvigilators. Shannon loves all things bee! She has been the IB coordinator at West for twelve years, but is switching to elementary counseling next year while she pursues a Master's in administration. Shannon may be smaller than I am, but nobody can fill those shoes. West will miss her so much!
In late February, I joined our Young Women for Roots Tech at the Salt Palace. It was SO crowded! As a short person at everyone's armpit level, I found it rather suffocating. It's hard to imagine that events will happen quite the same way post-pandemic.
A photo op with our cute girls.
Playing some Pioneer games...
...and Twister!
On a less crowded note, Eli and I went for a lovely sunset hike along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail while Annika was at her Daisy Girl Scout Meeting at the Natural History Museum.
Another ski day, this time with Talia's cute friend, Clara.
Home construction.
Looks like Eli's got his own bedroom all sorted.
Lookin' handsome, big guy!
Playgrounds! We miss them.
Talia's violin studio recital with her new teacher, Ms. Brecklyn Ferrin. She's since had another virtual recital celelebrating the completion of Suzuki book 2.
Last but not least, the Ninja Warrior Gym. Annika squeezed in two classes before it shut down. She's certainly looking forward to its reopening. This pandemic sure has been tough on small businesses like this one.
And there you have it! Our life right up until Friday, March 13th, the day our schools closed and life turned topsy turvy.

I really like all of the photos / updates, but Brooklyn’s self portrait is exceptional!
