After becoming so obvious with her potty-training cues that it became impossible to ignore them, I finally capitulated by putting Annika in "nundies" all day long (especially since she often insists on wearing them over her diaper or pants anyway.) Overall, she's doing quite well (knock on wood). This morning she cracked me up as she waved to the flushing toilet: "Bye bye, Pee Pees! Good luck!"
With less than a week until school starts, I'm feeling pretty melancholy about losing the long summer days with my children. Eli is positively desperate to start kindergarten, keeping a separate count on the number of days until Back to School Night (4), School Supply Shopping Day (5), and finally school itself (6). I, on the other hand, am counting the number of hours my little boy will be away from home every day, once you include the bus ride (9). Sigh. The school board voted to extend the length of the school day, and I am not a happy camper about it, but that's perhaps best left for another post. Instead, let me share Eli's funny phrase for the day. He ran into the house complaining about how Annika wasn't wearing shoes outside: "Mommy, Annie's going naked feet!" Personally, I'm just glad if she's wearing pants!

Amen to that...on all accounts! How old do babies need to be before you can find them belts? And how about finishing that idea for spray on rubber shoes?
Love your laughs!
Thanks for the laughs! I imagine it will be way tough to have Eli gone that long. I take it kindergarten isn't half day there.
