Come February our family was back on track. Brooklyn came home from her conference in DC. Everyone was glad to see her, but Annika in particular missed her Soooooooooooooooooooo MUTCH!
Annika headed back to school just in time to celebrate the end of their Harry Potter unit. Naturally the Sorting Hat placed her in Gryffindor house.
She got her school pictures back too. I feel like the hair and smile pretty accurately reflect this wonky year!
We even got some "new" wheels to replace Omy, our 2008 white Honda Odyssey that was totaled in December. Meet Orca, our 2022 white Honda Odyssey! Hey, we know a good thing when we find it. Even though Orca only had 4000 miles, we were able to purchase her for significantly less since she had been declared a total loss after a crash in Louisiana. There was no structural damage, so we were able to acquire her (with a salvage title) after this company named Autolocity fixed her up. I suspect this is the closest we'll ever come to owning a new car!
Pretty snazzy with all the bells and whistles. I like the heated steering wheel best.
Our first outing in Orca was to Hatch Family Chocolates. This Avenues joint is hopping!
She enjoyed the live music even more.
Speaking of music, I like Talia's drawing. Mastering an instrument can be as tough as scaling a cliff.
For my daughters, keeping their room clean is even more challenging than practicing.
Annika's a pretty skilled mess maker as well, but we still love her creativity. This aquarium was adorable. She fabricated glass out of saran wrap, then taped paper fish to straws so that they could swim around on the inside.
She also loved painting this dolphin that Grandpa Charles and Grandma Susie gave her for her brithday.
Other Annika quirks: I told her she could pick out any treat she wanted during a trip to Trader Joe's. The strange child selected two tins of sardines! Sadly for her, this fish wasn't quite what she expected.
Sometimes food brings us together in amazing ways.
At other times, it brings back memories, like banana pudding with Nilla wafers. So nostalgic!
We'll miss you Mr. Nibbles. Thanks for being such a good friend to our Spark.

So, so pleased that Annika is "back on track," and less importantly, that you have a reliable "new" minivan.
Wonderful memories! Thank you for capturing these moments of, and for, our family.
