April Fools Fun

This morning we had puppy chow for breakfast.  JaSpot, Bwooflyn, Tally Waggle, and Elick quite enjoyed their meals, particularly since the grub tasted remarkably like cocoa puffs.

Who needs spoons when you have a tongue for lapping?

When dinner arrived we said, "Let them eat cake!"

This lovely concoction is my new favorite non-meatloaf: tangy apple chicken loaf, a recipe worth saving.

Since we ate our cake for dinner, we had mashed potatoes for dessert.

The best April Fools surprise of all, however, is pictured right beside me.  Callie flew in for a visit on Saturday, surprising my parents and utterly confusing a poor lady at church who couldn't figure out why I showed up to Sunday school in duplicate.

So how did your family celebrate April Fools?

"April 1. This is the day upon which we are reminded of what we are on the other three hundred and sixty-four." -- Mark Twain

"The aim of a joke is not to degrade the human being, but to remind him that he is already degraded." -- George Orwell ... I do not really agree with this quote; however, seeing beautiful grandchildren having so much fun pretending to eat like puppies makes me wonder.

You certainly are creating wonderful memories for your family.
p.s. Did you put orange tic tacs in the "cupcakes"?

Love the fun! Our Cub Scouts came just squirming with excitement over the jokes they had played as well as the jokes played on them through the day, but I have to say nothing compared to your playful without pain day!

That is awesome. I have never liked April Fool's Day- a day dedicated to doing mean things to people and lying to each other? No thanks. But maybe I just need to look at it a little differently.
