Happy 99th to our Greatest Grandma!

Halloween is great, but something even better happened on October 30th.  Great-Grandma Norma Hansen turned 99 years old!  On Saturday, November 2nd we drove up to Rupert, Idaho to celebrate with a surprise party involving lots of family--children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  (None of the great-great-grandchildren could make it.)

As soon as we walked in the door, Annika rushed up to Grandma Hansen to give her a hug...and show her a snake.  Good thing Grandma Hansen is a good sport!

Jason and his grandma.  It's harder for her to hear and see these days, but she's still witty with a fantastic sense of humor.

Talia takes a turn to say hi.

Cousin Kelly.  As you can imagine, there was lots of tasty food at this Hansen family get-together.

Ruby joined us for our excursion.  Who knew that Rupert was the home of happiness?

Annika came straight from a church Primary Day's activity where apparently they had some Halloween face painting.  I wonder what Grandma Hansen thought about that?

Apparently it didn't stop the conversation.  I'm so glad we all had this chance to connect with Grandma and celebrate her life.

As long as we are on the topic of Grandma, here are some pictures from her 98th birthday that I never posted a year ago.

I'm so glad she could celebrate with her children!  You can see where Susie gets her beauty.

Christy made Grandma a delicious chocolate cake.

As for Jason, he helped install some useful bathroom grab bars.  These helped keep her safe as she aged in place, all the was until she moved into Assisted Living in June 2024.

We love you, Grandma!  Thanks for sharing your tremendous smile.
