Ultimate Cross Country

So, it's APRIL and I am blogging about October.  Blech.  Perhaps all will be made right if the moon completely eclipses the sun.

Until then, vamoose!  Let's talk about Cross Country, even though we are halfway through track season about now.  Even though it was her first season, Talia ran Varsity Cross Country for West and did fantastically.

I watched Talia's meet at Sugarhouse Park: such a beautiful location!  But gosh, the weather was hot and those poor runners looked like they were going to die.  So many kids collapsed on the ground and puking at the finish line.  I'm told that's fairly standard for Cross Country, to which I wonder, why?  Are we all really okay with this?  Let me tell you, that never happened in marching band.

Talia and her teammates.

Hang in there, Reddi-Wip!

The best part about running is when you get to stop.

West High's Girls and Boys Cross-country Teams were both fast enough to qualify for States this year.  That's a big deal that hadn't happened in a long time.  Way to represent, Talia!

Waiting for the race to begin.

And they're off!

So very speedy!  She ran this 5K in 22:16.

Also, I'm glad nobody needed the ambulance.

Moving on to Ultimate Frisbee, here's Eli playing with the Middle School Krakens Team.  These pics may be from fall, but spring Ultimate is back in season!

And here we have Talia playing on D1.

Any compilation of frisbee pics would be incomplete without our Brooklyn.  Our cute girl came back to Salt Lake to play in the Halloween Hat Tourney.  We watched her assist or score around three times in the first ten minutes!

Thanks to the Wilhoits for coming to cheer as well!

NomiAnn and Papa Kay were there as well.  It's so fun to have the whole family together!  Besides, Papa Kay's the best at kite flying.

Thanks to all for the joyful smiles!
