'Twas Two Months Past Christmas

It's February 24th.  Two months ago to the day was Christmas Eve (and Adam's birthday.)  That makes tonight the perfect time to share those memories.

This year was an Omaha Christmas, so we began the holiday with a long drive.  The kids love it when we break up our trip with a hotel stay in Sidney, Nebraska.  The best thing about the Fairfield Inn (besides Lance's Marriott discount) is the free breakfast.

We stopped off in Lincoln for a bit to see the construction progress on The Knolls, the enormous senior living facility Jason helped design while working with APMA.

Once we arrived safely in Omaha, it was time to tackle important tasks like decorating the gingerbread house...

...and setting up the Nativity.

Watch out!  Annika really likes to eat the gingerbread house too.

Christmas Eve fell on a Sunday this year so we began the day by dressing up for church.  We tried getting a photo of the kids, but the lighting made Talia look overly angelic.

Just for the record, Papa Kay still bribes with tic tacs.

Goofy style!  In characteristic teenage fashion, Brooklyn appears totally unamused by Jason's antics.

NomiAnn and Papa Kay join the photo fun.  Eli, I think it's time we get you a longer tie.

Later in the afternoon we all headed down to the airport to welcome the Wilhoit clan.

Anders arrived with his super-momma.

Brooklyn was quick to snatch Eila up into her arms.

Annika's favorite arrival was Zoe.

Back at home, it was time to celebrate Adam's  birthday.

Birthday pie is a personal favorite.

Before bed, we gathered for a quick reenactment of the Nativity story.  Papa Kay's rendition must be pretty entertaining.

Even though he wasn't feeling his best, Anders made the sweetest Baby Jesus.

Cookies and milk for Santa, and it was time for bed.

Merry Christmas eve to all, and happy birthday Adam!
To be continued...
