The best surprise? Papa Kay installed a fantastic zip line in the backyard. Needless to say, the kids LOVE it.
Getting back up the hill is great exercise.
Nothing says summer better than burgers on the grill.
We're so glad when Daddy comes home, glad as we can be!
Talia, looking pretty as a princess.
Brooklyn has mastered the eye roll.
Kay and Jason, deep in conversation.
Meanwhile, Talia serenaded us with the drums.
We made sure to snap a family picture before putting Jason back on an airplane.
The Kiss. (And the fruits thereof.)
Being all together sure is wonderful.
One last dogpile on Daddy!
Saying farewell was particularly hard for the kids this time--plenty of tears in the airport. It felt like no sooner than we'd said hello than it was time to say goodbye. I'm so grateful that the next time we are all reunited, it will be for an entire month as we join Jason in New York for July. Now THAT's something to smile about.

One day it will feel like it was just a brief time you were apart, but it has to feel really long today. I love the family photo and that zip line? Wow! They have some really fun grandparents!
Looks like a wonderful Memorial Day. You don't look at all like you had just had such along road trip. Love your family pictures (and your family!)
Ani has so much hair! She is super cute. Wish we could give her a cuddle (and the rest of the bunch too, of course). And we wish we could ride that wicked zip line.
The Kiss and the Fruits Thereof - hilarious!
I love how Annie is off in her own little world in all three of the family pictures. Perhaps she is not entirely convinced that she is really stuck with our crazy family!
